Al-Noor University community was shocked by the tragedy of the capsizing of a ferry at Um Al-Rabee'in Island, resulting in the drowning of dozens of our people, including children, women, and men. In solidarity with the afflicted families in Nineveh, Al-Noor University community organized a solidarity stand, with the college's administration, faculty, staff, and students participating, all dressed in black attire symbolizing their deep sorrow. The stand included a moment of silence for a minute, followed by the lighting of candles to mimic the tears of the grieving souls. Then, everyone recited Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of the departed and performed the funeral prayer led by their dean, Professor Dr. Yassin Taha Al-Hajjar.
