Lecturer at Al-Noor University College, Asst. Lect. Safwan Jassim Sultan, in collaboration with two professors from the University of Mosul, from the College of Science (Department of Life Sciences), recorded a new bacterial strain belonging to the genus Microbacterium was discovered in the American strain bank “National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).” The strain was isolated from the root nodules of the chickpea plant and was named “Microbacterium AZAS,” noting that it was the second discovery. during this year.
