Alnoor University Concludes the Qur’anic Memorization, Recitation, and Electronic Competition and Announces the Results
In the presence of ,Professor Dr. Yassin Taha Alhajjar, Under the patronage of the President of Alnoor University, alongside Sheikh Dr. Fathi Taha Ahmed, Chairman of the Scientific Committee for Qur'anic Activities in Nineveh, and Dr. Bashar Mahmoud Ali, Alnoor University held a central closing ceremony on the morning of Tuesday, 10 March 2026, marking the conclusion of its annual Qur'anic competitions. The event featured competitions in Qur'an memorization (Hifz), Qur'anic recitation (Tilawah), as well as an electronic (online) competition.
The ceremony was attended by the assistants to the University President and the Scientific Advisor, in addition to members of the specialized committees from the Sunni Endowment Diwan and Alnoor University, as well as a number of faculty members and students.
The ceremony also included speeches delivered by the Dean of the College of Education at Alnoor University and the Head of the Scientific Committee for Qur’anic Activities in Nineveh, in addition to a speech by Sheikh Mohammed Al-Assaf, in which they emphasized the importance of these activities in promoting religious awareness and strengthening Qur’anic values among students.
The ceremony also included an electronic raffle, with the first prize being a free Umrah trip, in addition to a second raffle that featured four valuable prizes, amid an atmosphere of joy and engagement among the attendees.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, honorary certificates were distributed to the members of the organizing committees, and the results of the Fourth Annual Alnoor Competition for memorization and recitation were announced.
Dr. Bashar Mahmoud Ali, in turn, addressed the attendees, reaffirming Alnoor University's steadfast and unwavering commitment to upholding authentic religious values alongside its scientific and academic mission. He noted that these competitions form part of the University's ongoing efforts to support Qur'anic activities and strengthen students' connection with the Holy Qur'an.
