Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Yaseen Taha Al-Hajar, Dean of Al-Noor University College, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Talal Hamid Al-Salman, Head of the Department of Dentistry at the college, the Continuing Medical Education Unit in the Department of Dentistry holds an electronic scientific lecture entitled Endodontic Regeneration: Current Status and Future Trends, presented by Dr. Ghaith Hamdoun Yaseen from America Pediatric Dentistry specialist and conservative therapist. Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Noor University College, Prof. Dr. Yaseen Taha Al-Hajar, the guidance of the Head of Dentistry Department, Prof. Talal Hameed Al-Salman, and the participation of the department’s instructors, who are Dr. Emtithal Ali Mohamed, Dr. Zeena Dubyan Mohamed Zaki, and Dr. Raed Burhan, and twenty of second-year students in the Department of Dentistry. A solidarity scientific visit was organized to Ibn Al-Atheer Teaching Hospital, during which they made financial donations and gifts for children with Leukemia.

Beginning of The Fourth Scientific Students' Festival for Department of Dentistry

On the third day of the cultural week, coinciding with the ninth anniversary of the founding of Al-Noor University College, the work of the fourth student scientific festival, organized by Al-Noor University College, in cooperation with the College of Dentistry at University of Mosul and the Department of Dentistry at Al-Hadbaa University College, where speeches were presented by Prof. Dr. Yaseen Taha Al-Hajar, Dean of Al-Noor University College, Dr. Rayan Salem, Dean of the College of Dentistry at Mosul University, and Dr. Hassan Sobhi, Dean of Al-Hadba University College. After that, scientific, artistic and charitable exhibitions were opened, with visits to the booths of colleges and departments, and then two research sessions were held.

Within the framework of the distinguished scientific contribution of the scientific family of Al-Noor University College in scientific research activities, Dr. bashar abdulghani tawfeeq, the instructor in the Department of Dentistry, participated in the specialized scientific symposium in orthodontic surgery, which was held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in cooperation with the Affiliated Orthodontic Surgery Unit of Nineveh Health Department. Hence, he participated by presenting a scientific lecture on orthodontic and maxillofacial surgery. The symposium was attended by the director of the hospital, a number of well-known professors and surgeons in this specialty, and many board and doctoral students, and recent and important topics in this field were presented and discussed.

Prof. Dr. Talal Hamid Al-Salman, Head of the Dentistry Department at Al-Noor University College, chaired the discussion committee for the master’s thesis entitled: (Effect of two thicknesses, yttria ratio and artificial aging on fracture resistance of laminated zirconia veneer restorations), which was presented by the student (Ali Dahi Malallah Younes to the Conservative Treatment Branch at the College of Dentistry at the University of Mosul on Thursday, December 2, 2021 in the auditorium Prof. Dr. Tahani Abdulaziz Al-Sandaq in the building of the Deanship of the College of Dentistry, University of Mosul. The thesis dealt with the use of tri-yttria, penta-yttria, triple-yttria zirconium oxide combined together and lithium silicate material for the purpose of comparing and evaluating the effect of two different thicknesses, yttria percentage and aging time on the fracture resistance of laminated zirconia veneer. The results showed that the thickness of the laminate veneer restorations significantly affects the fracture resistance value of all laminate veneer restorations and the yttria ratio. Artificial aging has a negative effect on the fracture resistance of zirconia-based laminate veneer restorations except for laminate veneers of the type that combines triple and pentagonal yttria together. The discussion committee included: Assistant Professor Dr. Wiam Mohamed Omar from Mosul University and Lect. Dr. Abduladhim Raouf Suleiman from University of Mosul, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Nadia Hamid Hassan The thesis was accepted after minor modifications. [...]
