titled<\/p><p>Effects of lateral flow on water quality of Tigris river reach in Mosul city\/Northern Iraq<\/p><p>in the \"\"Journal of Current Engineering and Technology.\"\"<\/p><p>The research aims to study the river linkage of the Tigris River, confined between the Rashidiyah area and south of Mosul city, focusing on the impact of the flow of side basins such as Al-Khosr and Kharazi Rivers, in addition to sewage water, water from human activities and uses, industrial and hospital wastes, and especially the sulfuric springs near Qara Serai, which directly discharge into the Tigris River. In this study, water samples were collected for two periods, and from the outlets, they were analyzed in the laboratory to determine the concentrations of positive ions such as Ca, Mg, K, Na, and negative ions such as SO4, HCO3, Cl, NO3, as the high concentration of these ions negatively affects human life and aquatic organisms such as fish. Additionally, acidity function, total dissolved solids, and water hardness (TH, pH, TDS) were measured, showing a noticeable difference in ion concentrations for water samples near the sampling sites illustrated in the figures presented in the research. Software was used to calculate some factors and represent them in categories such as Piper classification, enabling researchers to determine water
