students from Alnoor University organized a scientific field visit to the archaeological site of Khorsabad \/ Dur-Sharrukin, where the French archaeological mission continues its excavation work at the site.\nThe visit commenced on the afternoon of April 17, and the delegation included Dr. Bashar Mahmoud, Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, Dr. Munir Taha, Scientific Advisor of the University, Dr. Mohammed Zuhair, Director of Cultural Relations, along with<a href=\"https:\/\/cv.alnoor.edu.iq\/ar\/usersaccounts\/nabil.hussein\/\"> Dr. nabil nooraldeen hussein<\/a>,faculty member at the <a href=\"https:\/\/art.alnoor.edu.iq\/en\/\">College of arts<\/a>and a number of students from the Department of Archaeological Tourism in the College.<br \/>Upon arrival, the delegation listened to a detailed explanation presented by the head of the French archaeological mission, Professor Pascal Butterlin, Director of the Doctoral School at Sorbonne University 1, and Dr. Barbara Coutureau, Director of the Iraqi Antiquities Collections Department at the Louvre Museum, regarding the nature of the excavation works currently taking place at the site and the latest important archaeological discoveries made by the mission during the current period.<br \/>The visiting delegation also met with a number of local officials and entities concerned with the protection of the site, who expressed their full support for the excavation and research efforts carried out by the French mission and affirmed their great keenness to preserve this ancient human heritage, as Dur-Sharrukin constitutes one of the major capitals of the Assyrian Empire.<br \/>Experts in the fields of archaeology and heritage emphasize the importance of turning the Khorsabad site into a major destination for archaeological tourism in the Middle East, especially due to the site's breathtaking natural beauty, particularly during the spring season.<br \/>The delegation was accompanied during the visit by Mr. Rowaid Mowafaq Al-Layla, Director of the Nineveh Inspectorate of Antiquities and Heritage, and Mr. Saqr Al-Zakaria, Director of the Baytna Foundation for Culture, Arts, and
