Al-Noor University Council Publicly Shares Key Decisions from the 2026 First Annual General Meeting

Mosul, Iraq – In accordance with our commitment to institutional transparency and inclusive governance, Al-Noor University is publicly releasing the strategic resolutions passed during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the University Council for the 2026 academic year.

The AGM brings together the university’s executive leadership, faculty deans, and representatives to evaluate institutional progress, vote on critical policy changes, and ensure the university remains strictly aligned with both national educational standards and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Public Transparency Mandate

To ensure all stakeholders—including students, staff, and the wider Nineveh community—remain informed of our executive direction, the university administration enforces the following governance standard:

“Al-Noor University strictly adheres to a policy of administrative transparency. The university actively and publicly shares the decisions taken in the annual general meeting, ensuring that the institutional budget, campus development strategies, and academic mandates are accessible to the public.”

Key Decisions Adopted at the 2026 AGM:

During this year’s session, the University Council unanimously voted to adopt the following strategic initiatives:

• Resolution 1: Approval of the “Smart Campus” Digital Transformation. The Council voted to allocate significant funding for the modernization of the university’s digital infrastructure. This includes upgrading the e-learning platforms across all 11 faculties and securing expanded, free access to international digital libraries and research journals for all enrolled students and faculty.
• Resolution 2: Establishment of the Al-Noor Environmental Research Grant. To further our commitment to academic excellence and sustainability, the AGM approved the creation of a new internal research fund. This grant will specifically sponsor faculty and postgraduate projects focused on sustainable engineering, water conservation, and climate resilience within the Nineveh province.

Resolution 3: Expansion of the Student Scholarship & Financial Aid Program. The Council formally approved the expansion of the university’s financial aid budget. This
