"The gardens of Al-Noor University College hosted the first group of pilgrims from Nineveh Province, heading by air to the Holy Kaaba. The college collaborated with the Nineveh Hajj and Umrah Office to serve as the starting point for the pilgrims' journey to Erbil Airport. This marked the first time that farewells were bid from this location, as traditionally, people were accustomed to seeing pilgrims off in front of the Mosque of the Prophet Jonah (peace be upon him). However, due to the destructive acts of terrorist ISIS gangs, the mosque was demolished, making Al-Noor University College the new safe haven where pilgrims bid farewell to their loved ones. This amalgamation of faith and solid scientific foundation underscores the college's importance.
It's worth noting that the first group consisted of 374 pilgrims from Nineveh and its surroundings. They departed in eight buses to Erbil Airport to continue their journey to Medina by air."
