The Women's Affairs Department at Alnoor University organized a workshop titled "Social Media and Its Effective Role on the Individual and Society," which was supervised and lectured by Dr.
Shahrazad Mohammed Shihab , Head of the Women's Affairs Unit at the
College of Education. . The event took place on Saturday, January 18, 2025. The importance of social media was emphasized, as it plays a significant role in raising awareness about current events. However, it is also one of the most influential and dangerous tools affecting the culture and behavior of society. During the workshop, several guidelines and tips were provided to protect oneself from the risks of social media, including securing personal data, maintaining privacy, not believing everything that is said, avoiding sending money or passwords, protecting oneself from hackers, and exploring alternative activities such as reading, walking, practicing hobbies and skills, socializing with family and friends, traveling, painting, and engaging in handicrafts. The attendance was strong.
