A lecturer from Al-Noor University College participates in the membership of a discussion committee for a doctoral student in Chemistry
Dr. Farha Khalaf Omar, a professor at Al-Noor University College, participated in the discussion of a doctoral thesis entitled: (Development of Spectroscopic Methods for the Determination of Nimodipine and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride in Pharmaceutical Preparations and Biological Fluids), which was submitted by the student Hanan Hamid Ahmed Suleiman to the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science at the University of Mosul on Sunday, March 3, 2024., in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim Al-Taie, Dean of the College of Science, and a number of college professors. In her thesis, the student evaluated two pharmaceutical compounds, nimodipine and phenylephrine hydrochloride, due to their medical importance and wide uses for therapeutic purposes. In this regard, she aims to develop and introduce new spectroscopic methods for developing two pharmaceutical compounds, namely nimodipine and phenylephrine hydrochloride, through different chemical reactions. It is worth noting that the student published six research papers drawn from her thesis in reputable international journals. The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Moath Abdullah Najm Abdullah, and its membership included Prof. Dr. Daoud Habo Mohammed, Prof. Dr. Hanaa Shukr Mahmoud, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalida Mohammed Omar, under the supervision and membership of Prof. Dr. Salem Ali Mohammed Al-Taie. At the end of the discussion, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Prof. Dr. Farha Khalaf Omar for her participation in the student’s discussion committee.
