Al-Noor University, through the Department of Computer Science in the College of Education and under the supervision of the Continuing Education Department, held an online workshop titled "Introduction to the R Programming Language" via Google Meet.
The workshop took place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 8:00 PM, and was led by Dr. Wael Abdul Latif. The session was attended by several university faculty members. Dr. Wael provided a basic introduction to R, covering vectors, matrices, and graphics in the language, as well as defining loops and writing simple functions in R. He also demonstrated a simple linear regression model with several examples.
The R programming language is known for its specialization in statistical analysis and graphical representation. It is widely used in fields such as statistics, data science, and machine learning. R offers a vast array of packages and libraries that facilitate advanced statistical analysis, graphical creation, and data processing. It is distinguished by its capability to handle large datasets and provides an interactive environment that helps researchers quickly and effectively test hypotheses, create mathematical models, and analyze results.
