Prominent Scientific Figures Participate in the First International Conference on Information Technology

Alnoor University is preparing to hold its first international scientific conference in the field of Information Technology and its Impact on Sustainable Development on April 26-27, 2025. The conference will feature renowned global scientific figures who have distinguished expertise in their respective fields. The keynote speaker for the conference is Professor Dr. Abdulnasser Yahya Hussein, who earned his PhD from Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, in 1994. He also completed his postdoctoral studies at Kiel University, Germany, in 1997, both in the field of digital signal processing. Dr. Abdulnasser has been working in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman since 1999. He was granted the title of Professor in 2013 and currently holds the UNESCO Chair in Artificial Intelligence at the Communications and Information Research Center at the same university. Professor Hussein's research focuses on signal processing, with an emphasis on medical signal processing, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. He is also an active member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). Dr. Hussein has chaired various organizing committees for international conferences and has published nearly 100 research papers in renowned international journals and conferences. He has received research fellowships from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) for the years 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2015, and 2018.
 
     The organizing committee for the conference has extended the deadline for submitting research abstracts to Thursday, January 30, 2025. Researchers will be notified of the acceptance of their abstracts by Wednesday, February 5, 2025. The final submission deadline for full research papers is set for Wednesday, March 5, 2025, and researchers will be informed of the acceptance of their full papers by Tuesday, March 29, 2025.
