Department of Studies and Planning
The objectives and tasks of the department and sections were determined according to the approved structure.
The Department of Studies and Planning is the starting point in knowledge management and keeping pace with scientific development. It also performs a strategic mission by providing data and statistics about the university and its departments and centers. In addition to achieving the goals and plans set by senior administrative leaders and developing future studies to develop the scientific and educational reality, following scientific methods and taking into account the accuracy of data and information in their implementation, requires great efforts and familiarity with many aspects of solutions to the problems that are to be solved, and clarity of goals, accuracy and realism in determining needs.
The department develops annual plans and the university's needs for all scientific activities and curricula for all departments. It also studies the innovations required by the university for undergraduate studies and the creation of departments, branches, and sections. It sends them to the University Council and then to the Ministry to obtain the necessary approvals. The department's tasks include following up on planning mechanisms in the university's colleges, centers, and departments and coordinating between them to implement the university's strategic plan and follow up on it in the academic, administrative, and financial fields.
- The department seeks to provide studies related to innovations from colleges, departments, centers, research units, and sections at the university level.
- Provide accurate information to the database of all university members and update it periodically.
- Evaluating the progress of university work by preparing quarterly and annual reports represented by university statistics and quarterly reports and preparing annual and quarterly reports to address gaps and submit proposals.
- The department seeks to develop a comprehensive plan for innovations at the level of colleges, research centers, consulting offices, and departments according to the needs of the university and the ten-year plan adopted by the university.
- Building a database of university members, including faculty and staff.
- Issuing an annual statistical guide.
- Preparing and developing the organizational structure of the university, colleges, and research centers according to the controls.

Statistics Section
Section Tasks
- Preparing the annual report of the university and university statistics.
- Monthly update of university statistics.
- Annual report, which contains tables of preliminary studies and research related to professors, delegations, and courses for university members, projects, financial expenses, and conferences.
- Statistics of graduating students.
- Statistical program prepared by the ministry.
Data and Informatics Section
This section represents the link between the databases in the colleges and the presidency departments. It is a technical section that supports its work using specialized software to maintain and update the human resources databases in the university.
Section tasks: -
- A database with the names of faculty members and employees, including name, nationality, gender, general and specific specialization, date of birth, date of appointment, certificate, academic degree, date of obtaining it, position, college, and country granting the certificate.
- Sending changes that occur to faculty members, such as changing a certificate or academic title, appointment, retirement, resignation, change of position, or long leaves to the ministry every month.
- Monthly update of the faculty database (granting an academic title, transfer, resignation, death, promotion)
- Preparing statistical reports for the university center, departments, and centers.
- Developing and updating the system in the university concerning human resources management.
Planning, Training, and Development Section
The Planning Section is considered one of the most important sections of the Department of Studies and Planning in the University Presidency, due to the ongoing tasks and activities carried out by this section that concern several matters, including:
- Establishing departments, centers, branches, units, curricula, and academic systems.
- Obtaining the necessary original approvals to change the name of a college, department, or branch.
- Preparing five-year and ten-year plans.
- The section conducts original correspondence to name a graduation course for each academic year.
