Alnoor University launches and implements a large-scale campaign to plant 1,000 saplings in a single day, carried out by its academic staff and students.

As part of the initiative launched by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, under the slogan "A Tree for Every Citizen," and under the patronage and presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Hasoud, Chairman of the Nineveh Provincial Council, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Jubouri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Council, Alnoor University launched a campaign to plant 1,000 trees along a 5-kilometer stretch in a record time of just one hour on Thursday, November 7, 2024. This campaign was organized in collaboration with the "Muthabberoon for Development and Environment" Foundation and was supported by the university's students and faculty. The campaign, which was launched under the slogan "Plant a Sapling in Your Name or in the Name of a Loved One," began with a speech by Mr. Mohammed Al-Jubouri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Council, who praised initiatives aimed at increasing greenery and creating a clean, safe environment. He also commended Alnoor University’s initiative to organize a large-scale tree planting campaign on the central island of the road leading to the waterfalls. Following this, Assistant Professor Dr. Ismail Abdul Wahab, Assistant President of Alnoor University for Academic Affairs, delivered the university's speech, emphasizing that this campaign is one of the many initiatives by Alnoor University aimed at serving the city and actively engaging with its reality as an integral part of it.
