Alnoor University celebrates the victory of poet and novelist Saad Mohammed in the Katara Prize for Arabic Narrative

In the presence of Professor Dr. Bashar Mahmoud Ali, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Alnoor University, the university, represented by the Department of Arabic Language, celebrated College of Education The poet and novelist Saad Mohammed won the Katara Prize for Arabic Narrative for the year 2025, on the afternoon of Sunday, October 26, 2025
The ceremony was inaugurated prof. Dr. Khazal Fathy Zidane Hassan, The Dean of the College of Education delivered a speech expressing the university’s pride and appreciation for the achievements of Iraqi innovators, and highlighting the role of literature in elevating cultural taste
After that, the critic Dr. Jasim Khalaf Elias presented an in-depth critical reading that addressed the most prominent artistic aspects of the winning novel and its significance within the Arab narrative scene
After that, the honoree spoke about his experience in writing the novel, the stages of his participation in the Katara Prize, and how he managed to win it amid wide Arab competition
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Professor Dr. Bashar Mahmoud presented a Certificate of Excellence to the honoree, followed by Professor Dr. Khazal Fathi Zaidan awarding him the University Shield in recognition of his literary creativity and distinction.
