A faculty member in the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at Alnoor University publishes a joint research paper

Assistant professor Omar Taha Ismail, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at College of Health and Medical Technologies, At Alnoor University, a joint research study entitled
Synthesis some of polymers and heterocyclic compounds via Bis (4-aminophenyl) methane
which has been accepted for publication in
Chemical Review and Letters

This study deals with the synthesis of a number of new heterocyclic compounds and polymers starting from Bis(4-aminophenyl)methane, through the preparation of Schiff bases followed by cyclization reactions to form tetrazole derivatives, in addition to the synthesis of benzothiazole derivatives and their polymerization to obtain new polymers. The prepared compounds were characterized using infrared (IR) spectroscopy, proton nuclear magnetic resonance (¹H-NMR), and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (¹³C-NMR). The study also includes an investigation of the thermal properties of the polymers using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
