Vice Presidents of Universities in Nineveh Meet in a Broad Meeting Paving the Way for Joint Activities

Under the direction of the Research and Development Department of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a broad meeting was held at the University of Mosul, bringing together public and private universities in Nineveh province. The meeting was attended by the vice presidents of the universities of Telafer, Mosul, Northern Technical University, Nineveh, Al-Hamdaniya, Al-Noor, and Al-Hadbaa on Thursday, August 1, 2024. This was the first of a series of future meetings, during which several key topics were discussed, most notably the organization of the joint conference for Nineveh universities, scheduled to take place in February 2025 under the title "Activating the Academic Role in Achieving Social Peace and Combating Extremist Ideas." The session was managed by Dr. Yasmine Abdulkarim, Dean of the College of Archaeology. The participating vice presidents discussed the establishment and implementation of action plans that include holding workshops and seminars through the universities' centers for continuing education. Additionally, they outlined social programs and activities for the 2024-2025 academic year aimed at deepening national cohesion and promoting a spirit of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among university students. Emphasis was also placed on activating the role of university students in both curricular and extracurricular activities.
