In the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Ismail Abdulwahhab Ismail Assistant President of Alnoor University for Scientific Affairs, and organized by the Continuing Education Division at the university, the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies in the College of Health and Medical Technologies held a scientific workshop on Thursday, February 6, 2025, titled:
"Saving Our Rivers: Our Role in Protecting Aquatic Life and Biodiversity."
The workshop was supervised and presented by Dr. Nadhim Allawi a faculty member in the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies, with the assistance of Mr. Omar Shihab Ahmed, an employee in the University’s Quality Assurance and University Performance Department.
This lecture aligns with one of the Sustainable Development Goals, as the speaker addressed ways to protect the environment and preserve water resources by treating them before discharge. He also discussed methods to reduce pollution sources through the implementation of strict measures and policies.
These include expanding green spaces, planting trees, establishing nature reserves, preventing and scientifically managing fires immediately upon occurrence, and minimizing smoke emissions that contribute to pollution and negatively impact air quality and oxygen levels.
