A delegation from the University of Bern in Switzerland held discussions with representatives from Alnoor University.

A delegation from the University of Bern in Switzerland visited the Baytna Institution for Culture, Arts, and Heritage—the cultural front of Alnoor University—on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The delegation included a number of professors and undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Department of Archaeological Sciences at that university.
A meeting was held on the sidelines of this visit between representatives from Alnoor University, the Baytna Institution, and the Lamassu Organization on one side, and the Swiss delegation on the other. Several matters were discussed regarding the protection of Iraq’s cultural heritage and the importance of developing this sector so that it becomes a significant source of income and provides job opportunities for youth, particularly graduates of tourism and archaeology programs.
The head of the delegation, Dr. Mirko Novak, a professor in the Department of Eastern Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeological Sciences, expressed his university's willingness to collaborate in this field, considering that Iraq's cultural heritage is a legacy for all of humanity. The delegation also visited the future site of the Alnoor Center for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage and expressed their great admiration for this promising project. They conveyed their university's readiness to cooperate in areas of research, training, publication exchange, and the organization of conferences and scientific meetings of mutual interest.
