Meeting Between Al-Noor University and Sorbonne University / Paris 1 to Strengthen Academic Cooperation

On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, a meeting was held via the global information network between Alnoor University in Mosul and Sorbonne University / Paris 1, with the aim of discussing ways to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities.

Representing Sorbonne University were Mr. Guillaume Fiquet, Vice President for International Relations; Professor Pascal Butterlin, Director of the French Excavation Mission at the Khorsabad/Dur-Sharrukin site; and Ms. Laure Vogel, Director of the Department of External Relations.

On the side of Alnoor University, the participants Asst. Lect Ismail Abdulwahhab IsmailAssistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs;Prof. Dr Ahmed mustafa ali mustafadean of the ,College of Law,Dr. Mohammed Zuhair ZaidanDirector of Cultural Relations; andDr. nabil nooraldeen husseinAssistant Dean of the College of arts for Administrative Affairs.

Also attending the meeting remotely was Dr. Samir Riyad, Head of the Francophone Office at the Presidency of the University of Mosul.

The two sides discussed the possibilities of developing scientific cooperation in the fields of cultural heritage preservation, legal, administrative, and economic studies, emphasizing the importance of exchanging academic expertise and activating joint programs to strengthen the partnership between the two institutions.
