As part of its initiative to attract major cultural figures from Iraq and around the world, Alnoor University hosted Dr. Rayan Abdullah, who is renowned for his prominent status in the field of design, on the morning of Saturday, May 31, 2025. He was received by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Yaseen Taha Al-Hajjar, and Dr. Bashar Mahmoud, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and a familiarization tour was conducted around the university premises.
After that, he delivered an important lecture titled “The Future of Design” in front of a distinguished audience including members of the university community, intellectuals from the city, and students from the departments of Interior Design, Digital Media, and Archaeological Tourism.
Dr. Rayan Abdullah is known to hold a distinguished position in the fields of graphic design and typography. He has developed internationally recognized logos for Germany and for major companies such as Bugatti, Audi, and Volkswagen. He has authored books in the fields of design and Arabic calligraphy. He has taught and lectured at prestigious global universities such as Oxford, Harvard, and Cambridge. He founded the Faculty of Design at the German University in Cairo and served as its dean for several years.
Attending the lecture session were the two Vice Presidents of Alnoor University for Administrative and Scientific Affairs, the Deans of the Colleges of Pharmacy , Education ,Applied Arts, along with several heads of academic departments.
