An academic meeting at the Alnoor Center for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage to discuss future plans and frameworks for scientific cooperation
As part of Alnoor University’s efforts to promote scientific research and preserve cultural heritage, a broad meeting was held on the evening of Tuesday, October 7, 2025, that included Dr. Ismail Abdulwahhab Ismail,the Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, and the staff of Alnoor Center for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, headed by Dr.
nabil nooraldeen hussein.
And participating in the meeting, which was held at the Center’s headquarters in the Old City, were Professor Dr. Ahmad Qasim al-Jum‘ah, Professor Dr. Wael al-Nahhas, Professor Dr. Sha‘lan Kamel, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Zuhair Zaidan, and Dr. Jasim Muhammad Mahmoud.
The attendees discussed the center’s future action plan and ways to develop its activities in the field of preserving and documenting Iraqi cultural heritage, as well as organizing related scientific conferences and symposia. They also discussed the possibility of establishing research partnerships with universities and cultural centers inside and outside Iraq, and of providing a suitable scientific and administrative environment to ensure the success of the center’s research projects.
The scientific assistant affirmed that Alnoor University pays special attention to institutions concerned with national heritage and culture, noting that the center represents a qualitative step toward achieving the university’s vision, which is based on combining authenticity with contemporary knowledge.
