The College of Arts at Alnoor University organizes a workshop on digital technologies in translation
In the presence of Prof. Dr. Yaseen Taha Alhajjar, The President of Alnoor University organized College of arts At Alnoor University, on the morning of Sunday, December 7, 2025, a specialized scientific workshop was held entitled (Digital Technologies in Translation – Machine Translation and Human Translator Skills), as part of its efforts to keep pace with modern developments in the fields of translation and language
Supervised the workshop and lectured in it Assistant Lec. Abdulrahman Naser Abdulrazaq The instructor in the Department of Translation at the College of Arts addressed the most important concepts related to machine translation, its system types, and its mechanisms of operation, in addition to explaining the fundamental differences between human translation and AIbased translation
The workshop also addressed the key skills that human translators should possess in light of the dominance of digital technologies, as well as the importance of developing linguistic and technical competence to ensure accuracy and quality in translation
The workshop was attended by the administrative and scientific assistants to the university president, the Dean of the College of Arts, the university’s scientific advisor, and a number of the college’s instructors and students, who engaged with its themes through discussions and interventions, emphasizing the importance of this type of workshop in enhancing their academic and practical expertise and connecting the specialization with global developments in the field of translation.
