A faculty member from Alnoor University chairs a master's thesis defense committee at the University of Mosul
In the framework of academic cooperation between universities and the promotion of joint scientific activity in Nineveh Governorate, chaired Professor Dr. shallan kamil ismael ,a faculty member in the Department of Archaeological Tourism at College of arts At Alnoor University, the Master’s thesis of the student Ammar Fathi Talab was discussed for his dissertation submitted to the Department of Archaeology, College of Archaeology, University of Mosul, entitled “Egypt in Assyrian Writings.” The defense was held in the presence of a specialized academic committee along with a number of lecturers and researchers.
The thesis examined the image of Egypt in Assyrian texts through an analysis of the royal inscriptions and cuneiform records that documented the military campaigns and political relations between the Assyrian state and Egypt during the first millennium BC. It also addressed the political and propagandistic dimensions of the Assyrian royal discourse and compared the textual data with the archaeological and historical evidence.
