A new lecture in the Department of Clinical Nutrition at Alnoor University on the causes of obesity

Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Yassar Yahya Altamer Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, at Alnoor University, with the attendance of Professor Dr. Khzaal Fahti Zaidan Dean of the College of Education .The Department of Clinical Nutrition at the college organized a scientific lecture on the morning of Monday, March 9, 2026, entitled “Obesity: Its Causes and Methods of Prevention.” The lecture was delivered by Dr. Talal Taha Ali, a lecturer in the department. The lecture addressed the concept of obesity as one of the common health problems in the modern era. The speaker reviewed the most important causes leading to weight gain, including unhealthy dietary habits, lack of physical activity, and genetic factors, in addition to the impact of the contemporary lifestyle, which relies on limited movement and frequent consumption of fast food.
Dr. Talal Taha Ali also explained the most prominent health complications associated with obesity, such as cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, and diabetes, emphasizing the importance of nutritional awareness and adopting a balanced, healthy lifestyle to reduce this problem.
The lecture witnessed active interaction from the attending students, who raised many questions and inquiries about the best scientific methods for losing excess weight, as well as dietary advice that helps prevent obesity and maintain the health of the body.
