The effect of radiation on microorganisms in a workshop at the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at Alnoor University

Department of Medical Laboratory Technology established at College of Health and Medical Technologies, At Alnoor University, on Wednesday 2026/4/15, a scientific workshop titled (The Effect of Radiation on Microorganisms) was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Muna Taher Alnaftchi
The workshop addressed the identification of different types of radiation and their various effects on microorganisms, highlighting the mechanisms of impact on microbial cells, whether through inducing mutations, inhibiting growth, or eliminating microorganisms. It also discussed the practical applications of radiation in medical sterilization and material preservation, in addition to outlining potential risks and methods of protection against them.
