Alnoor University explores in London the strengthening of scientific and cultural cooperation with British institutions
As part of Alnoor University’s strategy aimed at expanding its network of international partnerships and opening up to global academic institutions, conducted Dr. nabil nooraldeen husseinDirector of Alnoor Center for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage and Assistant Dean College of arts,An official visit to the United Kingdom from April 18 to 21 of the current year, to explore prospects for joint scientific and cultural cooperation with a number of British institutions.
The visit began with an official meeting that brought together Dr. Nabil Noor Aldin Hussein and Professor Dr. Qusay Alahmadi, the Cultural Attaché at the Iraqi Embassy in London. During the meeting, ways to enhance academic exchange and develop mechanisms for cooperation between Alnoor University and its counterparts among British universities and research centers were discussed, in addition to addressing the challenges that may face this cooperation and working to overcome them in a manner that ensures its sustainability.
During the meeting, the Cultural Attaché was also briefed on the most prominent activities of Alnoor University in the fields of archaeological tourism and the preservation of cultural heritage. In addition, the university’s strategic plans aimed at reviving archaeological and heritage sites in Iraq were reviewed, with efforts focused on preparing them to become effective tourist attractions that contribute to supporting the national economy and promoting sustainable development.
The visit included a series of meetings and exploratory tours that focused on studying the potential for cooperation with the British Museum, as well as with several academic institutions specialized in heritage preservation and management, in addition to Arabic-language media institutions in London.
These initiatives aim to establish practical foundations for organizing joint training and research programs targeting students and faculty members of Alnoor University, particularly in the fields of “archaeological tourism” and “digital media.” This is intended to facilitate the transfer of global expertise and adapt it to the local context, while enhancing the competence of both academic staff and students alike.
At the conclusion of the meeting with the Cultural Attaché, Dr. Nabil Nour Aldin Hussein presented the University of Al-Noor shield to Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, as an expression of the university’s appreciation for his role in supporting academic and cultural cooperation pathways, and in strengthening bridges of communication between Iraqi and British educational institutions.
