The Language Club at the Linguistics Center of Alnoor University launches its first discussion session
In the debut of his work, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Yaseen Taha Alhajjar, President of Alnoor University,Professor Dr. Ismail Abdulwahhab Ismail The Scientific Assistant to the University President organized the Language Club, affiliated with the Linguistics Center at Alnoor University, on the afternoon of Saturday, 2026/2/28, an English-language discussion session open to students, faculty members, and interested parties, to debate an important topic in professional life: which is more valuable in the workplace, an academic degree or practical experience?—considering the role of the skills required in the labor market
The session covered multiple and diverse opinions, with participants highlighting the importance of academic qualification as the theoretical and methodological foundation, in contrast to practical experience, which is considered the true measure for testing competence and applying knowledge in real-world settings, emphasizing that mastered skill represents the meeting point between the two.
The session was chaired by Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Bashar and media professional Yasmin Amer, who both contributed to enriching the discussion and organizing participants’ interventions, giving the session a distinctive interactive character that reflects the Language Club’s objectives of promoting a culture of dialogue and developing English communication skills within the university community. The session was also attended by Professor Dr. Kamel Ali Almohseen Dean of the College of Technical Engineering, ,Professor Dr. Khzaal Fahti Zaidan Dean of the College of Education . And Professor Dr. Munir Salem Albadrani, the university’s scientific advisor, along with a number of directors from the university presidency departments.
