An Alnoor University Lecturer Publishes a Scientific Research Paper in a Specialized International Journal
Alnoor University faculty members continue to demonstrate their distinguished academic presence in leading international journals, as Professor Diaa Najm Alsubha, Head of the Department of Chemistry at Alnoor University, published College of Education .a joint scientific research paper in the journal Analytical Chemistry Letters, entitled:
Simple and Cost-Effective Cloud Point Extraction Method for Routine Determination of Dopamine in Pharmaceutical Formulations
The significance of this research lies in introducing a novel cloud point extraction (CPE) approach as a direct, rapid, and cost-effective spectrophotometric technique for the quantitative determination of dopamine in pharmaceutical formulations. This approach contributes to the advancement of chemical analytical methods and enhances the efficiency of laboratory testing.
The study was based on the reaction of dopamine with Eosin Y reagent in an acidic medium to form an orange-colored ion-association complex. The complex was extracted using the nonionic surfactant Triton X-114 and subsequently measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 550 nm. The method produced accurate and reliable results, confirming its efficiency and demonstrating its potential for application in routine pharmaceutical analysis.
This achievement reflects Alnoor University's commitment to supporting scientific research and encouraging its faculty members to publish high-quality research in prestigious international scientific journals, thereby enhancing the university's academic standing and strengthening its presence at both the national and international levels.
