An Online Lecture at Alnoor University on Biosafety and Biosecurity in Modern Diagnostic Laboratories

The Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies organized College of Health and Medical Technologies, Alnoor University, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center at the University Presidency, held an electronic lecture on Tuesday evening, July 28, 2026, entitled (Biosafety and Biosecurity in Laboratories… and Safe Practices in Modern Diagnostic Laboratories) The lecture was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Hadi Ahmed, Head of the Department. It was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Muhammad Amin Mahmoud Abdullah, a faculty member in the department. The lecture addressed the fundamental concepts of biosafety and biosecurity, as well as the key practices and procedures that should be followed in modern diagnostic laboratories to ensure a safe working environment and minimize potential risks.
He emphasized that biosafety and biosecurity are among the fundamental requirements of quality systems and academic and laboratory accreditation, noting that adherence to modern standards in this field contributes to improving laboratory performance efficiency, protecting staff and students, and enhancing the reliability of diagnostic results in accordance with the best international scientific practices. This lecture is part of Alnoor University’s efforts to develop the skills of its academic staff and students and to promote a culture of quality and safety in line with academic accreditation requirements and the modernization of the educational and training environment.
