Alnoor University participates in the Ministry of Higher Education workshop to build a university system for transforming knowledge into economic value
Alnoor University participated in the specialized workshop organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with Clarivate, under the title (Building a University Ecosystem for Transforming Knowledge into Economic Value) with the attendance of a number of university presidents, researchers, and experts.
Alnoor University was represented at the workshop by Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdulwahab Ismail, Assistant President of Alnoor University for Scientific Affairs, accompanied by the Head of the Science and Technology Parks Department and the Head of the Technology Incubator Division, as part of the university’s commitment to developing its innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and enhancing the transformation of research outputs into applications and projects with economic and developmental value.
During the workshop, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad, emphasized the importance of moving beyond the university’s traditional role in knowledge production toward building integrated systems capable of transforming scientific research and innovation into economic value. He also highlighted the importance of the Bologna Process and technology parks in linking educational outcomes with the skills required by the labor market and in transferring knowledge and technologies to productive sectors.
The workshop included a specialized lecture delivered by Dr. Ayman Aqeel and Dr. Waleed Hassan from Clarivate, addressing the foundations of building an integrated university ecosystem for knowledge and innovation management and linking it to the labor market and productive sectors, in addition to reviewing a number of relevant experiences and practices.
The workshop also featured scientific discussions on developing the institutional environment for innovation in Iraqi universities, activating partnerships with the public and private sectors, and enhancing the role of science parks and technology incubators in transforming academic ideas and research into projects and solutions with economic and developmental impact.
Alnoor University’s participation reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the innovation ecosystem, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship, while linking scientific research with the needs of society, the labor market, and the knowledge economy.
