A delegation from Alnoor University participated in the activities of the Iraqi Science Conference organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the University of Baghdad for the period
From October 11 to 13, 2025, with broad participation from Iraqi, Arab, and international universities and research institutions.
The delegation of Alnoor University was composed of the following members:

Professor Dr. Ismail Abdulwahhab Ismail, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs
Dr. Mohammed Zuhair Zaidan, Director of Cultural Relations
Professor Dr. Rashid Mahmoud – Director of the Quality Assurance Department
Mr. Hossam Nofal Fadel – Head of Science and Technology Parks
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Alaboudi, inaugurated the activities of the Iraq Education Conference 2025 in its second edition, with the participation of international experts and representatives from Times, Clarivate, Elsevier, QS, and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank.
The Minister of Education emphasized in his speech that what has been achieved within three years in the higher education and scientific research environment was not merely procedural steps, but rather represented a profound transformation in the philosophy of university education, transferring Iraqi universities to a space of international recognition and placing them at the heart of the global academic map.
And he pointed out that Iraqi academic institutions have entered a new phase titled ‘achievement and leadership,’ in which the rich scientific heritage of Iraqi universities integrates with the future vision and its requirements.
The launch of the Iraq Education Conference 2025 witnessed the attendance of Mr. Nick Davies, representative of the Times Foundation, and Mr. Sharif Ali Alshami, Vice President of Clarivate Foundation, as well as the participation of Dr. Diya Madhat, representative of Elsevier Foundation, Dr. Ola Lawrence, advisor to the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, and Dr. Talal Youssef, representative of QS Foundation, in addition to Almalak Al-Mutaqaddim, the Dean of Iraqi Academics, presidents of public and private universities, deans of colleges, and representatives of diplomatic missions.
The delegation represented Alnoor University in the scientific and dialogue sessions of the conference, which addressed issues of higher education, scientific research, innovation, technology, and sustainable development, alongside discussing digital transformation in universities, linking academic research with the labor market, and the role of universities in supporting the knowledge economy.
The delegation of Alnoor University conducted several bilateral meetings with representatives of Iraqi and foreign institutions and universities during the days of the conference, during which they discussed prospects for scientific and cultural cooperation, and exchanged expertise in the fields of quality assurance, academic accreditation, and student innovation.
At the conclusion of the participation, Professor Dr. Yassin Taha Al-Hajjar expressed his thanks and appreciation to the hosting parties for their warm reception and outstanding organization, affirming that the participation of Alnoor University in this major scientific event comes in harmony with its strategy aimed at enhancing active academic presence and openness to national and international partnerships in the fields of research, innovation, and modern education.
