President of Alnoor University Participates in the Meeting of the National Permanent Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance to Promote Coexistence and Peace in Nineveh

Under the patronage of the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance at the Office of the Prime Minister, the President of Alnoor University participated ,Professor Dr. Yassin Taha Alhajjar, During the proceedings of the meeting of the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance, hosted by the University of Mosul in coordination with the Nineveh Governorate Stability Support Committee, and attended by Dr. Haider Alsaadi, Chairman of the National Committee, alongside the presidents of the governorate's universities, directors of government departments, representatives of religious institutions, and various components of society.

The meeting was attended by the presidents of the University of Mosul, Northern Technical University, Nineveh University, Alhamdaniya University, Nineveh Plains University, and Alnoor University, in addition to representatives of government and religious institutions, civil society organizations, and prominent community figures, as part of ongoing efforts to unify national visions, promote a culture of peaceful coexistence, and reinforce the principles of citizenship and tolerance among the various components of society.

The President of Alnoor University emphasized during his participation the vital role that universities play in promoting a culture of dialogue and mutual understanding within society. He pointed out that academic institutions constitute a fundamental pillar in building public awareness and fostering the values of moderation and peaceful coexistence, thereby contributing to the achievement of stability and sustainable development in Nineveh Governorate and Iraq as a whole.

The participants discussed a number of key issues related to supporting civil peace and countering hate speech and extremism, as well as promoting community initiatives that contribute to fostering a culture of dialogue and cooperation among the various segments of society, while expanding the prospects for partnership between universities, government institutions, religious institutions, and civil society organizations.

The participants also reviewed a number of proposals and initiatives aimed at strengthening joint cooperation between academic and community institutions in support of community awareness and guidance efforts, thereby contributing to the creation of a safe and stable environment that reflects the cultural and religious diversity for which Nineveh Governorate is distinguished.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants issued a set of strategic recommendations emphasizing the importance of organizing scientific and cultural conferences and events dedicated to promoting the values of peaceful coexistence, social sustainability, and social justice. They also called for the launch of academic and cultural initiatives that highlight the cultural and religious diversity of Nineveh Governorate while fostering the values of brotherhood, mutual affection, and national unity among all the people of Iraq.
