The Visual Imprint Between Script and Memory: A New Book by an Alnoor University Faculty Member Presents a Cognitive Model of the Miraculous Nature of Qur'anic Orthography

In this context, published Dr. Asmaa Yousuf Thanoon,the faculty member at College of Dentistry At Alnoor University, a new book titled Visual Imprint Between Letter and Memory: A Cognitive Model of the Miraculous Nature of the Qur'anic Script has been published.
The book presents an innovative cognitive perspective on the study of the Qur'anic script (rasm al-Qur'an), revealing how the letters and their patterns of repetition contribute to the construction of a visual memory that helps both readers and memorizers retain the Qur'anic text and recall it with greater speed and accuracy. It further demonstrates that repetition in the Holy Qur'an is not merely a lexical recurrence; rather, it is a meticulously structured system that integrates sound with meaning, and visual form with memory, making the Qur'anic text a cohesive and interconnected composition that becomes deeply embedded in both the mind and the heart.
Among the most significant outcomes of this research project was the production of three printed editions of the Qur'an, based on the Madinah Mushaf. In each edition, recurring letters were highlighted in different colors, with the aim of facilitating memorization, reducing forgetting, and reinforcing the retention of the Qur'anic orthography in visual memory more deeply.
This publication represents a distinguished scholarly contribution and an invitation to reflect on the aesthetic dimensions of the Qur'anic script, while rediscovering the Holy Qur'an as an integrated geometric structure that embodies one of the enduring aspects of its miraculous nature across the ages.
