Safwan Jassim Sultan, Assistant Lecturer at Al-Noor University College, Assistant Lecturer Zaid Tahsin Ali Qadawi, and Prof. Dr. Amjad Abdul-Hadi Muhammad, Department of Biology at University of Mosul, for the first time recorded a new bacterial strain belongs to the genus Acinetobacter and called Acinetobacter AZS1 isolated from the root nodes of alfalfa, in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).

The progress of the professors of Al-Noor University College is increasing in important scientific forums, as Prof. Dr. Samir Khalaf Abdullah, Dean Assistant for Scientific Affairs of Al-Noor University College, won the award for the best researcher in the field of fungi and mycotoxins in the competition conducted by the Iraqi Society for Mycotoxins and Pollutants, and this is the second time he has won during the current year with a significant award, as he had also won the award of the distinguished researcher in the classification of Al-Ain University
