The department was established in 2013 with a vision aimed at choosing the best modern teaching methods and providing the education directorates with highly qualified teaching cadres that can provide a great service to the country and its citizens, as well as developing the teaching staff so that students acquire skills and scientific expertise in the fields of language. Its another aim is to graduate qualified teachers who can contribute scientifically to Education, able to use audio-visual aids and modern teaching methods to teach the English language.
The Department of English Language was established at Al-Noor University College, and it is one of the departments that grants a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature. The department strategy meets with the rapid development requirements in teaching English as it is a global language and the approved language in teaching all branches of science and knowledge in the world, where the approved curricula are reviewed in an orderly manner for the purpose of updating the quality and contents of the study materials in line with modernity. Also, the teaching programs for all materials are subjected to quality standards. There is a vigorous follow-up by the department for all semester work and for all academic materials.
The Department of English is concerned with teaching students the latest curricula in the fields of English language, literature and teaching methods. The students of the department learn English grammar and literature in four study stages, where they study English grammar, pronunciation, essay writing and all branches of English literature. Students are also familiarized with the teaching methods of English language.
This department aims to rehabilitate graduates holding a bachelor’s degree in English who are qualified to meet the needs of the local community of teachers for intermediate and secondary studies, well-versed and trained in teaching English to work in the governmental and private sectors. The department grants a bachelor's degree in English language and literature, and the college works to equip the department with a language laboratory for educational purposes.
A graduate of the English language department is qualified to work as an English language teacher in various schools, whether governmental or private.. as well as working as a translator to translate from and to English language, in addition to the fact that language proficiency enables students to work in any sector that needs someone who is fluent in another language.
