Dr. Diaa Najm Al-Sabha, a professor at Al-Noor University College, chaired the discussion committee of master’s student Masara Nactal Khalil Yassin on her master’s thesis that she submitted to the Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, which is titled (Development of spectrophotometric methods for the determination of a number of drug compounds by applying the reactions of diazo-coupling and oxidation and reduction)
The study dealt with the development of two rapid and sensitive spectroscopic methods to estimate microgram quantities of amisulpride based on the application of nitration and coupling reactions using the two reagents iminodibenzyl (IDB) and ferone (7-iodo-8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulfonic acid),
The study also included the application of oxidation-reduction reactions, as a sensitive spectrophotometric method for the indirect determination of the drug compounds atenolol, isoniazid and pyridoxine hydrochloride.
The discussion took place on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
Its committee included Asst. Prof. Dr. Thaera Idris Younis from the Northern Technical University, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Abdel-Hay Mohammed, and under the supervision and membership of the Professor Dr. Zeina Zuhair Saleh.
