Shavan Lazkin Younis Noah, one of the third-year students in the evening studies of the Law Department at Al-Noor University College, is one of the few students who hold an advanced position in the field of sports. He is accredited as an international referee in the sport of Taekwondo. The Asian Taekwondo Union awarded him the title of Best Referee in the Asia International Championship held in Tehran from February 14-22, 2024, with the participation of clubs from most Asian countries. He officiated most of its matches and was selected as the referee for the final match.
He began refereeing in 2010 at the level of Iraq and participated in three international refereeing courses in Iran, Egypt, and Tunisia. He received the international badge from Egypt during a refereeing course held in Sharm El Sheikh in 2017. He has participated in refereeing in several international championships, including three times in Seoul, South Korea, and Pakistan, twice in Jordan, Iran, and Turkey, and once in Lebanon.
