Under the sponsorship of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the International Scientific Conference on Aviation and Sustainable Development was held on Wednesday morning, 9/20/2023, in the presence of a number of higher education officials and researchers from Australia , China, Malaysia, and the Netherlands.
The activities began with the playing of the Iraqi and Australian national anthems, then Prof. Dr. Muzahim Qasim Al-Khayyat, Chairman of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, gave an important speech, followed by the Australian Ambassador to Baghdad, Paula Ganley, with a speech as well, followed by a speech by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, delivered by the representative of His Excellency Dr. Faris Mahdi Alwan, Director of the Private University Education Department. Then Dr. Muhammad Al-Ukaili, Secretary of the Drone Team and representative of the National Security Advisory, delivered the Chancellery’s speech, and the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Yassin Taha Al-Hajjar, concluded the speech with a welcoming speech. After that, the Media and Relations Division showed a live film about pioneering and adopting sustainable development.
Then, Dr. Uday Ali Ahmed, Scientific Coordinator of the Office of the Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs, chaired the speakers’ session and invited a group of foreign researchers to give their lectures. They were Prof. Talal Youssef and Prof. Nita Timmerman.
At the conclusion of the opening session, a bilateral cooperation agreement was signed between Al-Noor University College, signed by Prof. Dr. Yassin Taha Al-Hajjar, Dean of the College, and the Australian University, signed by Professor Steve Hall, Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, in the presence of the Australian Ambassador and the representative of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
