In the presence of Prof. Dr. Yaseen Taha Al-Hajjar Dean of Al-Noor University College, the Al-Noor University College Chess Championship was launched in the college library, where the Dean opened it by making the first move between the competitors, so that the students would go to strong competitions among themselves. The tournament was held according to the Swiss system, where each player, male and female, competes in seven rounds over the course of two days, Wednesday and Thursday, with the participation of more than twenty players...
The matches are led by international referee Qutaiba Al-Abbasi, and the students are supervised by player Ahmed Qutaiba Al-Abbasi, son of the college and one of its graduates, who won second place in the Asian competitions.
